Newell & Betsworth Family and Implant Dental offers comprehensive dentistry for adults and children, minimizing referrals to specialists. This office serves local patients as well as many from neighboring counties. New patients are always welcome and referrals are greatly appreciated.

Dr. Brian Newell, D.D.S.

Dr. Newell has been working in the field of dentistry since 1994 when he began his career as a dental assistant working in the veteran’s hospital in Lincoln, Neb. He concurrently studied biology at the University of Nebraska, Lincoln, and earned his bachelor’s degree in dental hygiene in 2000, also from the University of Nebraska College of Dentistry. He worked as a dental hygienist while attending the dental college. He graduated from UNMC College of Dentistry in 2004.

For the past 10 years he was a co-owner and main providing dentist at a 365-day a year emergency dental office in Omaha. He keeps up-to-date with changes in dentistry by attending continuing education courses in oral surgery, endodontics, cosmetic and restorative dentistry. He has completed training for Camlog, Nobel Bio-Care and IMTEC implants and has experience doing procedures such as root canals and wisdom tooth extractions. He is skilled in cosmetic and restorative dentistry and also has training in uses of Botox and dermal fillers. His passion lies in using technology and Digital Dentistry to improve common dental practices and make the patient’s experience more positive.

Dr. Newell is now a resident of Topeka and has three sons: Gavin (18), Holden (16) and Vance (2). His wife Scarlett works in sales for a food distributor.

Dr. Larre Betsworth, D.D.S.

Dr. Betsworth is a native of Topeka. He attended Washburn Rural High School and the University of Kansas and Washburn University. He graduated from the University of Missouri, Kansas City School of Dentistry in 1988. Dr. Betsworth began practicing in Topeka after graduating dental school and established his own practice in 1991.

He is a member of the American Dental Association, the Kansas Dental Association, and the Topeka District Dental Society. Dr. Betsworth is a Diplomat with the International Dental Implant Association. He has participated with the Kansas Mission of Mercy for many years and provides dental services for soldiers through the National Guard. Dr. Betsworth is a past president of the Topeka Dental Society and the Kansas Mission of Mercy. He lives in Topeka with his wife, Katherine. They have two children, Brandon and Chelsea. Brandon lives in Scottsdale, Arizona where he practices general dentistry and Chelsea lives in Topeka and attends nursing school. Dr. Betsworth enjoys outdoor activities, especially hunting and fishing. He also enjoys spending time with his grandson.
